Get to know Pastor Plant
Chris Plant Jr. was born on July 17, 1987, in the picturesque town of White Castle, Louisiana. From the very beginning, he displayed a deep-rooted faith and a passion for music, which would go on to shape his life in profound ways.
Chris is a man of God, whose unwavering devotion to his faith has guided him on his life's journey. His spiritual journey led him to become a prominent worship leader within his community. He has dedicated his talents to serving as the Minister of Music for two significant churches, the First Baptist Church of Paradise in Louisiana and the Greater Sixty Aid Baptist Church in Baton Rouge. His musical contributions have played a vital role in fostering a sense of spiritual unity and worship within these congregations.
As a member of the Mt. Zion Baptist Church Inner City, pastored by the esteemed Ricardo Handy Sr., Chris Plant Jr. has continued to deepen his spiritual understanding and connection. He is an active participant in the vibrant and dynamic spiritual community that thrives under Pastor Handy's guidance.
In addition to his spiritual pursuits, Chris is a dedicated scholar. He is currently pursuing a double major at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, majoring in Philosophy and Liberal Arts with a concentration in Religious Studies. This dual academic focus reflects his commitment to exploring and understanding the complex intersections of faith, philosophy, and the human experience.
Chris Plant Jr. is not only a devoted servant of God and a committed scholar but also a loving family man. He is the proud husband of Shena' Rambo Plant, hailing from Alexandria, Louisiana. Together, they share a beautiful family, including his children, Ashton and Hayleigh Plant. Chris also extends his love and care to his bonus children, Braxtyn and Brailyn Dumas, whom he absolutely loves, exemplifying his dedication to fostering a warm and loving home environment. They also have a Goldendoodle named Yezzy.
On March 17, 2024, Chris was elected Pastor of the New Bethel Community Baptist Church of Alexandria, adding another dimension to his spiritual journey and leadership within the community. Additionally, Chris plans to further his education at Harvard University School Of Theology, where he aims to obtain a Master's Degree in Divinity and a Doctorate Degree in Theology, continuing his pursuit of spiritual understanding and leadership.
Throughout his life, Chris Plant Jr. embodies the values of faith, community, scholarship, and family. His unwavering commitment to these aspects of his life has made him a respected and cherished member of his community in Louisiana. Chris's journey is a testament to the power of faith, music, education, and love in shaping a meaningful and purposeful life. Throughout his journey, he has been blessed with the spiritual guidance of many pastors, including Dr. Leo. D. Cyrus, Pastor Elvin Lacey, and Pastor Andrew Richardson.
